Bullet magnets
Bullet magnets / pipe magnets can be used to filter undesired ferromagnetic (Fe) particles – such as iron and steel – out of granulates, fibres and coarser materials in high capacity free-fall lines. They are used in the bulk, animal feed, plastics, ceramics and recycling industries, among others. Bullet magnets are not suitable for food-related products that require food grade finishing.
Both the housing and the magnetic core of the bullet magnet are very robustly constructed. Because the magnetic core is located in the middle of the product stream, the bullet magnet has a very high separation yield. The round shape of the housing and the magnetic core (with a 60° top cone) ensures continuous flow and good distribution of the product stream. The product then passes three powerful magnetic fields, where guide strips redirect any product near the outer walls back toward the magnetic core. This strategy successfully achieves both good flow and good iron separation.
Goudsmit pipe/bullet magnets are available in both permanent magnet and electromagnet versions. Permanent bullet magnets require manual cleaning (wiping off), while electromagnets are cleaned automatically (during a production stop).
Capacity of a bullet magnet is max. 500 m³/h. Particle size max. 50 mm.
